Monique and I were able to celebrate her 22nd birthday together atop Ensign Peak as we ate our hot chocolate and pumpkin bread only missing the sun rise by a couple minutes. A peaceful day spent together walking around Temple Square learning about Brigham Young and his house, and being able to watch the Prophet of the Restoration together.
"This is the perfect symbol!" I had said eagerly. "I am ready to raise my 'ensign' and renew my efforts and goals striving to be a little better and to go that extra inch." (An inch you see, because a mile is too long, but an inch a day is more achievable and adds progress!)
After a wonderful weekend listening to Conference I am motivated to make a few changes in my life. I am eager to more fully love and serve those surrounding me--especially those who are so close, and are often the ones I most quickly forget. I am eager to begin! And with Monique leaving on her mission to Texas what better time to start than this?!
