The Tear-Jerker

We all have one thing in common. Each one of us is trying to have a life worthwhile-- encapsulate experiences that create an abundance of happiness--and lead a life that exudes greatness, honor, and joy.

This week's activity with Elizabeth really helped me see the goodness that is present in each person, despite of our different backgrounds, cultures, or choices. Each of us are trying the best that we know how. We are all hopping to capture the happiness on our journey to the end of the rainbow. We all want to be extraordinary!

This passion for each individual person and our uniqueness one to another was cultivated through an afternoon spent serving lunch for the homeless and low-income families in the Provo area. What a good opportunity for introspection, respect, and joy in the very most simple things.

Seeing a smile from a patron greeting us from the door carrying a warn and tattered old bag containing all he had in store had been such a pleasant surprise. Also seeing a "regular" teaching a young girl the tricks to saving things for later and how to put her dishes away. Even the eager looks on the clients faces when there were plastic bags to put their left-overs in that day was enough to make me wipe a tear away.

What an inspirational day full of deep gratitude and love for complete strangers that helped me see what happiness really looks like. More smiles, more service, more love!
