Today I was able to spend the day at the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point with some of the sweetest people I have grown to love throughout the semester. Some classmates and I have had the opportunity to participate in a service-learning class as part of our senior practicum for one of our last hurrah's together here at Utah Valley University.
What an exciting journey it has been! I have learned so much from the tender hearts of the people we work with. Through this experience I have come to better understand how very unique and special these individuals are who struggle with various physical, mental. social, and emotional under-developments. Yet, I am fascinated how intelligent each of these wonderful children are and the light that they have to share with me every Tuesday we are there to visit with them.
This has definitely been one of my most favorite classes here on campus as we have struggled and learned how to share our information about physical fitness throughout the community and hopefully have excited the clients at Tri-Connections to stay physically active through specialized physical activities to suit each individual and their ability levels. It doesn't have to be much, just getting them to play action BINGO with their hands or teaching them the chicken dance has been fun enough! :)
You are so awesome Ash! You pretty much have always been an inspiration! Miss you tons!
