The Day in the Life of a Bear Scout

Working with these CRAZY, extremely goofy, very energetic, and smiley boys has been such a joy! We have been working with Ben, Jeremy, and Brenden since school started and it is an absolute riot being with them each week! :)

In this picture we are playing a game where you roll three dice, and whoever can roll doubles gets to put these lovely socks on their hands, a hat, and a tie and tries to cut off as much of the chocolate bar with the utensils given to them. They attempt to eat as much as they can before someone else rolls doubles. Ha-ha! This was one of their favorite activities I think!

It was so cute, because Ben (the boy in the yellow) came over last Monday just to tell us that he would not need to borrow a bike when we do our bike riding activity this summer because he just got a new one for an early birthday present (which isn't until July!). I couldn't stop smiling when he was at our door and I told him he had to ride it over one of these times to show us how cool it is! They are so cute! I absolutely love seeing their little smiling faces!

I was also able to go to the annual Little Fillmont Training yesterday where we learned all about the scouting program and how to better the lives of the boys we work with. This was so much fun, since we were able to pretend we were the boys and got to play around with swimming noodle jousting sticks and played a team building/cooperation activity. What a hoot to see all these adults playing around as if they were nine again! It really showed our competitive sides!

  1. Ash!!! How cool - you're getting practice being a mom for the time you get to spend with these boys. And boys are tough... so kudos to you! Just always remember, kids come one at a time... not 5 boys or so at a time. Ha. I had to be reminded of that when I was the mom for a couple weeks. Love you bunches! One day I want to see a blog of us going on a double date!! :)
