Happy Fourth of July!!! It was so fun to spend the day together as a family. We are enjoying every minute of our holidays together and beginning some new traditions! I LOVE having Peter home on the weekends and holidays. Glory, Glory!!!
Peter and Alyse enjoyed a free patriotic popsicle as we walked around Lake Minnetonka basking in the beautiful sun and enjoying the festivities of the day. We had to pass on the fried cheese curd and fried candy bars. YUM!?!
This is the Annual Music in Plymouth held on the fourth of July. We had so much fun listening to the orchestra play patriotic songs to the firework display. We enjoyed a picnic with our ward and playing Uno. What a fun tradition!
We loved our Utah trip over the past two weeks. What a fun-filled adventure with two family reunions and Elizabeth's beautiful wedding to top it all off! :)
Sar and I got to go to Fruita and pick apricots.
YUM!!! They were delicious!
Alyse was wondering where her apricot was. Silly Goose!
For the Evans side reunion this year we were able to go to the famous Boulder Mountain where even our cousins could come! It was just like the old days: floating ducks, reading, campfires, stargazing, and hikes.
I think Alyse will warm up to the idea of camping! It just might take a few tries! She just likes to be up with all the action! :)
I love this picture of you, P. You have your real smile on! You little heartbreaker! :) Thanks for such a fun trip! I loved being with you and getting to watch Soul Suffer.
Cactus + Sand hot enough to burn the hooves of the little pups + Alyse's red cheeks that were hot enough to fry an egg= ONE TORTUROUS HIKE! (It's no wonder--we weren't on the right trail as Dad is screaming for us to come back!)
We loved our reunion with the Holm family. We were able to spend three days at the Uintah's in a cabin with all of the cousins. Thank you so much Mom and Dad for such a beautiful adventure! I managed not to crash the ATV all day! Thanks for trusting your Aunt, Lacy! My favorite part of the vacation was just seeing how lovely these cute cousins are to their newest addition of the clan. Alyse was in heaven all week! Thanks for reading to her cute girls! She can't wait for her next adventure with all of you!!!
You are right Liz, I was the culprit...I hope everything washed off okay! I had an accomplice with me, too! :) We had a blast at your wedding!
Good night, Auntie Sar, I love you!!!
Thanks for the wonderful trip everyone! We can't wait for our next trip in November!
Hello Minnesota!
It is so good to be home!!! We missed you, Dad!
We saw this HUGE turtle on our way home from church Sunday. It is so funny--people stop traffic to save the turtles! We even have Turtle Crossing signs! Ha! Who would've thought! Bunnies...not even just for Easter, birds that whistle WOOT-WOO! at you, wild peacocks and turkeys, frogs galore...and now turtles! What's next?!
Alyse is in LOVE with Mom's Jamba smoothies! She couldn't get all the goodness in her mouth quick enough though! :)
My Peter. How I love him. He is always such a good sport. We went to the Temple for date night. Peter had decided only afterwards to tell me he was a little out of it since he had passed out getting his allergy shot at the doctor's that morning.
He said he tried telling the nurse he wasn't feeling well and that he was going to sit down. However, all that came out of his mouth was: "uhh..ddaaa...boooo..." And he was down for the count. Luckily his pregnant nurse caught him mid-fall.
He said he has to do that again because he got a free juice box, crackers, and a fruit snack! :)
Oh, Love! That is Peter to a T! :) Mr. Optimist.
Peter's boss had us over for a summer party at their lake house. We had such a blast! I even dared to go tubing! Although, I DID scream every second. It was so fun...especially when Peter screamed louder than me as he almost flew off the tube. I was laughing so hard my stomach nearly fell off!
Courtney took little Lu for the night so that Peter and I could enjoy a night out. What a relaxing night. We had a picnic on the lake while rowing in our cute new boat Peter got us. I can't remember the last time I felt so peaceful. Not a worry in the world. We'll have to get back on the water soon!
Alyse is good at getting into, well, EVERYTHING! She's reorganizing for me!
These are my cute Beehives I teach at church, Catharine and Amanda. They are so much fun to be around! Catharine was getting initiated as a Beehive and we had a secret mission to accomplish at French Park. The scavenger hunt was a success--and we even got to see a cute turtle getting ready to lay her eggs!
We got to go swim on Saturday at the Clark's house that we are caring for while they are away. I even swam and dived off the diving board! Lu LOVES the water!
We get to tend their garden and enjoyed a belly-full of strawberries and raspberries. Alyse ate all of the grape tomatoes when we got home, too!
Funny story:
So, we are on our way to church and I had given Alyse some of my mascara to play with--as usual. However, as we are stopped at the stop light just before our turn for the church. I looked back to find not my little Alyse, but this KISS girl. OH, DEAR!!! (Somehow, miraculously, she didn't manage to get anything on her church dress!)
She is getting too tricky! Sunday must have been a huge milestone for her. Her first day crawling, first day calling me Momma :) and her first attempt at putting on mascara. Let's wait a few years on the last one. Okay, Lu?
I was so excited to get a comment from you! What a fun summer you have been having! I loved all the updates. Your fourth of july sounded so fun and your trip to Utah so fun as well. I love all the little critters you have around you! I wonder if it will be like that in Michigan. I love the turtle picture! Alyse is so big! I bet her and Kaia would have so much fun together! Keep enjoying life and keep in touch, love ya!
