HUZZAH!

We had a BLAST on our Vegas-St.George Extravaganza with Steve and Mindy and their three kids, Makenna, Dylan, and Kalia. There is nothing like getting to be like a kid again!

From the Tournament of Kings...the Balagio... Cirque de Soleil KA...and the famous Angel's Landing... I sure had a hard time picking a favorite!

We got to see inside all of the PRETTIEST casinos according to Mindy. :) I had never experienced Vegas like this before! We felt like royalty...staying in our suite at the Luxor with our own jacuzzi, eating the fanciest of foods, and trying on a BLINGING $300,000 dollar ring!

This picture was taken at the beautiful Venitian. This one was one of my favorites! With fancy classical music playing as you arrived at the red-carpeted entrance and escorts treating us like queens...who would be apposed to such a greeting!

They had great big water fountains, a woman playing the accordion, and even a mime-statue!

I felt like we were in Italy. Eating our Pizza in a tiny Pastry Cottage, talking to French people, even going on a romantic gondola ride like on the Little Mermaid, listening to the sweet songs of our guide, including the famous, Amore." And following ancient tradition of kissing under each bridge.

Here is the Living Statue. I couldn't believe it! I had to get up close to her to realize she was actually a REAL person! She gave herself away when she winked at me! :) I would be horrible at that job! How in the WORLD do they stand that long without moving a muscle?!?

There were shows going on every 30 minutes. We were lucky enough to see this amazing juggler, a SUPER bendy man (like those Stretch-Armstrong Dolls!), and even a queen singing opera.

Here we are in the GIANT umbrella room. I felt like we were in Alice and Wonderland!

The gondola ride was one of my absolute favorites! I have always wanted to be serenaded on the waters of Italy sitting close to my Prince Charming! :)

My other favorite casino was the Balagio. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the fountains...but they had this HUGE garden room filled with millions and millions of sculptures made purely of FLOWERS! I didn't want to leave. The flower smells filled the entire casino and you felt like you were in a secret garden!

Cirque de Soleil KA was unbelievable! I have never seen such an amazing production on such an expensive stage! People were flying over our heads, playing with fire, and doing all sorts of wild tricks while telling a intense drama/romance only using words for a 20 second introduction! If you have never been to a Cirque de Soleil show I would HIGHLY recommend it! I think this one was our favorite!

And of course, you can't forget the Tournament of Kings! We were escorted by lords and ladies who took us to our royal red thrones as the jousting and feast began. We had dinner suit for a king...with our own personal game chickens, broccoli, dragon's blood soup, potatoes, a roll, and a fancy danish our bellies were stuffed and our hands were filthy! You see, the people in King Aurthur's time didn't need utensils...so why did we?!? The kids LOVED that part...And getting to raise their gobbets and shout "Huzzah's" at the top of their little lungs!

Our final destination was Zions where we stayed at the relaxing spa cabins at Flannigan's Inn. This was the perfect ending to our vacation. Lots and lots of entertainment...and then two days of relaxation and peace in one of the most healing places in the world! Nothing beats a hike in the red rocks and being close to all of Heavenly Father's beautiful creations!

What a vacation to remember!

  1. When did you go to Vegas and St George?! That's where my husband and I went last week for our 1-year anniversary (May 25-29)! We stayed at Excalibur and saw Tournament of the Kings, Cirque du Soleil's Mystere (at Treasure Island), and Criss Angel at Luxor! Cirque du Soleil was amazing, and it was my favorite part of the entire trip. We also stopped in St George and went to Zion to hike Angel's Landing!
