The Power of a Mentor

After being diagnosed with diabetes, Billie was determined to change her life. "Being born in the South where everything revolved around food-- and frying EVERYTHING--I knew this was going to be a great challenge." But Billie thrives on challenges!

Within a year's time and careful planning of her diet she has lost 35 lbs and is feeling fabulous! Despite loosing her sweet mother and dearest friend two months ago, she is pushing harder and farther than ever before. Her goal: Get Moving!

Billie and I met at a speaking conference in the fall and I finally asked her if she would mentor me in speaking and storytelling if I would be her "trainer."

She eagerly said yes as she joyfully cried, "I think you were an angel sent to me!" (However,I think it was the other way around.)

A treasured friendship built in only a few short days--a sisterhood made for all eternity.

There are those few people who come into your life for a short time, who make a permanent impression on your heart. Billie is one of those beautiful people I have been blessed enough to know in my life.

I hope each of you believe in the strength and power in your strong presence and your uplifting power. We have all been blessed with such different talents and abilities so that we can help each other.

I would LOVE a mentor for ALL things--for piano lessons, beginning crochet, basic sewing/mending, and story writing. We could do an exchange of services! What do you say?!?
