Here is a picture of the cute baby Tristan that I am lucky enough to babysit each week while his mom finishes school. What a joy it has been to be with such a smiley and happy baby. I have been learning so much from him! He is so patient and loving...even when I put on his diaper wrong three times, if it takes 25 minutes just to change him out of his pajamas, or how bad I am at singing.
He looks at you as if you are the greatest for all your efforts and his smile as you sing and read to him reminds you how much he loves you. And taking them outside on a walk just to view the fountains, the grass, and the trees helps me remember to slow down...and to see the beauties that surround me.
Tending Tristan helps me see a little glimpse of heaven everyday!
He is so smart! And I learned a lesson on Thursday that I wish to never forget.
Babies catch on unusually quick if you are impatient or even a bit frustrated and can tell by the way to talk, hold, and look at them...so be so very careful!
I can remember him waking up almost two hours earlier than he usually does on this particular day; and instead of being cheerful and energetic as per usual, I found myself a bit grumpy because of my lack of sleep the night before and expecting to finish a project before he awoke that day.
Well, baby Tristan could tell I was not my normal happy self--and we both had a rough day. With baby Tristan painfully crying and me begging to figure out what he was trying to tell me, finally we found a resolve--all he needed was his bottle and a walk at the park.
That was my lesson in being patient! I can't help him unless I am patient and calm so that I can think clearly. I'm grateful he wasn't a harsh critic on my slow reaction time! I promise to keep trying to be better!!!
